I don't feel judged here. They are sex positive and provide a much needed LGBTQ friendly medical experience. I use them as my primary doctor.

I don't have medical insurance. How much does it cost out of pocket to have a Pap Smear done and other testings?

The moment I steeped in this place I was like... unbelievable the doctors, nurses and the front staff =COMPASSION. Dr Klegovitz it’s very dedicated to the practice and to her patients. I was lucky enough to have her as my primary doctor. I couldn’t ask for anything else, after that I knew that I wasn’t alone and that there is God, I know because of the amount of the goodness when I’m there.

I've been going to Howard Brown since 2004. It's been wonderful watching the center evolve into what it is now. I recently started going back after living out of state for two years and after intake, my care resumed seamlessly.

The staff, services and facilities here are fantastic. It's a very convenient location, about a block and a half from the Sheridan Red Line. The services they offer have a sliding scale and are relatively affordable. They offer a thorough STI screening, from helpful and knowledgeable staff that are happy to answer questions and put you at ease. If you are getting tested regularly, it can get especially expensive. The last Wednesday off the month they have free drop-in screenings, so make sure to set up a monthly reminder. They offer screenings where your partner (or anyone else you choose) can have theirs done at the same time, or just to be with you. I recommend them all the time.

This place is amazing. I came in so scared and the staff was simply amazing. Alex was so caring and sincere. He made sure all of my questions were answered and he was extremely informative. I loved this place so much that im choosing them to be my primary care provider. You will not be disappointed

HBHC do tremendously important work. I've always had a good experience with the staff, from reception to nursing to my doctor, Dr. Brown. The in-house pharmacy is amazing for the discounts they are able to give on medications; the hormones I get could normally run hundreds of dollars, but I get them for around $25 a refill, without my insurance even paying anything. I don't know what I'd do without this place. On the other hand, I've heard lots of people with bad experiences. You don't get far in the Chicago trans community without hearing someone's horror story about being misgendered, uncaring doctors, insurance shenanigans, or gross misprescribing. And anyone who has been there can tell you that the doctors are almost always scheduling a month out, and that wait times in the office are often very long. So, in short: this is a vital community resource, but definitely has some systemic issues to work through.

It took a very long time but it was worth every minute! The staff at HB know exactly how to handle your situation, they make you feel safe, they treat you like they actually care & they are amazingly thorough. Every member of the staff with whom we encountered at two HB locations were very professional, knowledgeable & personable to say the least. We will never forget your hospitality & all that you did to make our "situation", just another day at the office. You're all amazing (*M. M. NP*), keep up the good work.

Love HBHC! There's no place like it, the doctors work with you so well, and I never feel any negativity. This is the best place for all LGBTQ persons and I've never felt any better at a doctor's office. The waits aren't too bad, but the phone calls get too hung up on hold, but its always worth it.

Amazing Clinic! Excellent care, knowledgeable medical staff and helpful and friendly office staff. They are a wonderful organization and provide high quality service to all patients regardless of their ability to pay. This is the best clinic in Chicago, especially if you are LGBTQ.

Been going here since 2012. Great place to go. Staff is amazing, helpful, and courteous. It is busy, as people come from all around the city and this is the main location. I never feel rushed. I've had to wait a couple times past my appointment due to my provider being behind but I'm a patient person so it didn't bother me that bad (it was almost 2 hours past my appointment time when I finally got called back). Other than that, music is always playing in the lobby, the staff is always smiling, and the pharmacy is very convenient.

Ruth is awesome! She is very useful to Howard Brown!🐀 She was really the first person who really went out of her way to show me my blood test results. Also, Michelle Evers is really great too!🤗 I hope to see more professionals with this friendly manner come to HB real soon!🐒

Needed to get checked out after coming here wasnt as much people as the usual free clinics this one was nice and friendly and defintly low cost for a faster pace clinic compared to the other free clinics that make you wait atleast 2 - 3 1/2 hours...I came here and checked in and right away filled a short information sheet and within 20minutes I was called by the doc by my initials since they keep your name discrete the doctor in there gave me medication right away after knowing my symptoms and I was done within 40min or so..fast and good clinic I recommend for anyone who are doing check ups for sti's and such...
